I never viewed life as young or old. For me age is not a deterrent. Age has nothing to do with how you lead your life. It is one's passion and determination that matters. No body should retire. One should have another lease of life as long his strength and health can hold out, and utilize all the experience and knowledge one has collected over a life time.
Life is more fulfilling once one retires from work. One can read, write or pursue his hobby, learn new skills, take care of grand children, do social work, or do what he really wanted to do in his/her life and never
did. Only the focus becomes much wider than earlier.
Sure the body gets weaker but it is the will that drives. The moment one doubts himself, self-pity sets in. A happy mind ensures a healthy body, (also a healthy body helps to have a happy mind) One should work to keep oneself healthy and happy.
All the above do not mean that one should look like a teenager but should not think like his/her parents and grand parents when they were in their 60's. One should feel good, look smart and enjoy life.
Many parents whine about their children not taking care of them. They would rather accept and enjoy their children's success than complain about being neglected. One should feel good to see them doing well in life-take pride and feel thankful to God for His grace in giving them all good, by which they are doing well in life today. One should not think that taking care of parents is the duty of children. If they are busy it does not mean they care less for parents.
Anyway God helps those who help themselves. Age has no relevance -one is as old as he thinks.
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER AND STATISTICS !
